Full Name: Iziah James Tusler

Birthday: August 28th, 2006 

Wrestling Club: Cushing Youth Wrestling Club 

School: Harrison Elementary

Hometown: Cushing, Oklahoma

Weight Class: Division 2 - 49 lbs.     

Most significant wins/accomplishments: Before this year, Iziah never won a tournament. This year, Iziah won 1st place at 8 tournaments with one of those tournaments being Regionals. Last year, Iziah was not a state placer. This year, he placed 6th at state. Iziah wrestled an astonishing 63 matches and finished the season with a 44-19 record.


Iziah Tusler is full of great spirit and awesome attitude. He likes to win, but he also loves the sport for all that it embodies. Iziah is certainly one of our most improved wrestlers, going from never having won a tournament to now having 8 tournaments under his belt! That is awesome, and that groth shows just how Iziah might make it. With goals like he has, we have no doubt this kid is destined to go far. 


Why do you enjoy wrestling?

I like wrestling because it is fun and I like to win tournaments.

What's the most important thing wrestling has taught you? 

Wrestling has taught me how to always try to out think my opponent.

What's the best advice your coach has given you? 

Coach Dakota always tells us to never give up.   

How do you handle tough defeats? 

I get angry and immediately think of things I could have done differently in the match. 


What’s your proudest achievement as a wrestler?

Winning multiple tournaments in a tough weight class. 


Do you have a hero/role model?

Coach Jeff is my role model.  He is awesome!

What's your favorite wrestling move?

My favorite wrestling move is the snake.

What's your favorite subject in school? 

My favorite subject is Reading because it helps you become smarter.     



Do you play any sports aside from wrestling?

I play baseball and will start football this year.       


Do you have any other hobbies outside of wrestling?

I like skateboarding, riding my bike, playing with friends, and playing video games.   

What are your goals for you wrestling career?

I want to join the Minnesota Gopher college wrestling team and become a coach. 

What are your goals for the next 1-5 years?

To work hard and win state. 

Where is your biggest area where you could improve?

I need to get better at shooting, working the top, and handling defeats as a learning experience.
