Weight Class: 55 lbs, Intermediate  


Wrestling is the toughest sport. James doesn't just believe this, he knows it. He's a knockout stud when he gets out on that mat. Wrestling since he was seven years old, James Stager has cruised into a sport he truly loves. He wrestles for the Rock of Redmond Wrestling Club, coming out of Redmond, Oregon, and we are sure he does them proud! A terrific addition to our HERO Quest, James aspires to always go further with wrestling and become one of the greats. We are more than sure he is capable, and are excited to see where James' wrestling career takes him. We will follow suit with James' motto: Never Give Up!

Why do you enjoy wrestling?

I like to learn all the different moves.   

What is the most important thing wrestling has taught you? 

It taught me to never give up! It's the toughest sport.    

What's the best advice your coach has given you? 

Never give up!

How do you handle tough defeats? 

Learn from mistakes and get better.   

What’s your proudest achievement as a wrestler?

When I got my first 1st place medal!  

How old were you when you started wrestling?

7 years old!

 What is your favorite post-tournament meal or treat? 

I like those Tiger Milk bars!      

Do you have a favorite song that gets you pumped up before a practice or match?

Smooth Criminal.  

What is your favorite wrestling move?

The cradle!   

Who is your Hero/role model?  

Brock Gutches. 



What is your favorite subject in school?

I like P.E. the best.

What is your favorite movie?

Big Hero 6.

Do you play any sports aside from wrestling?

I also play football and baseball.   

Do you have any favorite hobbies outside of sports?  

I love fishing!  

What are your goals for this season? 

I want to place at Reno.    

What are your goals for your wrestling career? 

I want to become one of the best wrestlers ever.
