Most significant wins/accomplishments: USA Wrestling Freestyle Kid State Champion; OH-WAY Regional Champion; Midwest Grand Nationals 3rd Place (All-American); Ken Chertow (Academic All-American).  


The older of the Alvarez Brothers, Nicolas surely has to show his younger brother who's boss every now and again. But in all seriousness, this guy is a true stud. He works hard in school, and he works hard on the mat. Following his advice that 'Hard Work Wins' is a true testament to how much Nicolas loves the sport and how good he is at it. He rocked the HERO Quest, and we are sure that this season and the many season's to come will be a huge success for Nicolas. 

Why do you enjoy wrestling?

Because I am good at it.  

What is the most important thing wrestling has taught you?

   To be disciplined and to have respect for your opponents and teammates.  

What's the best advice your coach has given you? 

Hard work wins. 

How do you handle tough defeats? 

I walk through the halls and shake it off. 


What’s your proudest achievement as a wrestler?

Runner-up at State Championships and at Midwest Grand Nationals.  

How old were you when you started wrestling?

 7 years old!

 What is your favorite post-tournament meal or treat? 

Going to Frisch's Big Boy! So yummy.    

Do you have a favorite song that gets you pumped up before a practice or match?

The Mat by TP & Esco! 

What is your favorite wrestling move?

3/4 Nelson.

Ken Chertow.

World War Z.  

Do you play any other sports besides wrestling? 

I like to play football as well. 

Do you have any other hobbies outside of wrestling?

Playing on my tablet is fun! 

What are your goal for this season? 

To get a Tech Fall in the first period and to Win State.  

What are your goals for your wrestling career? 

To get a college scholarship.
