Breaks tend to come at a time when they're very much needed. With wrestling season and school in full swing, it's easy to get stressed out and forget all that's going well. Below are five things your wrestler can be thankful for this year. Hopefully it will brighten their mood and help them enjoy Thanksgiving break a little more.
1. Body. Wrestling requires a lot of physical training, and a lot of people can't execute the moves a wrestler can. Some people can't physically play sports for a number of health reasons, which makes it that much more important that you understand how lucky you are to do something you love. Regardless, you should always recognize how amazing it is to have a healthy, functioning body that lets you do so much - run, swim, ride bikes, etc.
2. Home. You probably don't think much about what's always there - a bed, TV, food to eat, a shower. You might think of them as naturally being always available, but these are necessities that many people don't have access to on a regular basis. So the next time you're exhausted and get into bed, try to remember how grateful you are to have a place to rest in a safe home after all your competitions and long school days.
3. Education. School can be tough and frustrating, but in the grand scheme of things, it's important to be in a state of constant learning. Something in a class can inspire you to research more about a topic, and your world can open up like never before. Expanding your interests gives you a cool perspective on things and can help you make some really great friends. Thank your teachers for a specific lesson that you enjoyed so they know that you care.
4. Hobbies. Whether it's books, board games, or singing, it's awesome to have something to do simply because it makes you happy. Maybe you haven't done something you love in a while for whatever reason - try to set aside some time to choreograph a dance from a cool music video, paint with watercolors, or what have you. All your other interests in addition to wrestling make you super unique and you should embrace what makes you YOU.
5. Hard Work. You've already accomplished so much, and the season isn't anywhere close to being over! Your dedication and desire to get better in wrestling is something to admire. Becoming an expert requires hours and hours of work, and the key to success is consistency. So enjoy your break without any worries, then get pumped to dominate once it's over!
